New 8-Screen Movie Theatre Comes to Marley Station Mall
Horizon Cinemas to renovate current theatre, create special promotions for mall guests
GLEN BURNIE, MD. (April 15, 2014) – Marley Station Mall today announced that Horizon Cinemas has taken over the space previously operated by Regal Cinemas and will re-open the new 8-screen theatre in early summer 2014. Horizon Cinemas currently operates The Rotunda Cinemas, Beltway Movies and Pikes Theatre.
“In recent months, we have invested a lot of time and money into making significant improvements to Marley Station Mall and the upgrade to our movie theatres will help us become the best community, shopping and entertainment center for our customers,” said John Hess, General Manager.
Renovations to the current theatre space have been taking place since Regal closed in late February including a new lobby, updated bathrooms, and the installation of all-new digital projectors with 3D capabilities, which will provide customers with the best movie-watching experience. The Movies at Marley Station will re-open to the public with four renovated theatres – all which have been gutted and completely updated to include new, comfortable seats with extra legroom and modernized flooring. The new lobby will feature state-of-the-art digital signage and upgraded concession options. The additional four theatres will be renovated in early summer.
“Horizon is thrilled to become a part of the fabric of the Marley Station community,” said Ira Miller, owner of Horizon Cinemas. “In addition to the theatre upgrades, we are also developing a number of discounted promotions and offers specifically designed for Marley Station Mall shoppers, with plans to become a one-stop entertainment destination.”
Renovation updates will be posted to the Marley Station Mall website and Facebook page. A grand opening event will take place upon completion of the full theatre.
